About Us

Barton Road Centre is currently owned by Lancashire County Council. However the running of the centre is overseen by the Barton Road Centre charity.

In 2012, we appointed a Community Co-ordinator, Denise Nardone, to oversee community work at the Centre. Denise retired in 2024.  Michael Hind is now in this post and is the first point of contact for many people who use the Centre.

Barton Road Centre has now become a charity (Charity Number 1182276).

The Centre relies on volunteers and income from rentals to keep it afloat. In a regular week, we welcome in excess of 600 children and adults into the building. It is an invaluable resource to South Lancaster. Come and have a look!
